About

A quiet obsession with patterns.

I am Eyram Wilson. I am a dabbler, an enthusiast, and a tinkerer. Your favourite utility player. I am keen on making a difference in whatever role I find myself in, and I have found myself in a few; Bus driver, Middle school maths and ICT teacher. School administrator. Now a data scientist in training.

I am easy going, with an MSc in progress and a deep appreciation for good coffee, clean data, and a well labelled axis.

I have a solid foundation in Python, SQL, and statistical modelling, with experience applying machine learning to regression, classification, and forecasting problems. Most of what I build starts with a problem I ran into at work, which is how a fee default model, a bus tracking system, and an audiobook player all ended up on the same list.

At the school I work at, I have built tools for the administration and digitalised most of our processes. I am currently building Troute for the school's busing system.

My guiding principle is this. If I cannot explain it simply, I probably do not understand it yet. So I spend as much time on the storytelling as on the model, wrapping statistics in visuals, context, and clarity.

I enjoy finding structure in messy datasets and turning complex analyses into something a person can actually act on. Whether that is improving a business process or uncovering a pattern nobody had noticed, I am driven by curiosity and by clarity.

I am currently open to global and remote data scientist roles. Industry agnostic, and powered by curiosity, collaboration, and the occasional debugging triumph.
